Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a jewelry booth with a gun at an indoor swap meet Saturday.
WEST VALLEY CITY — Police are searching for a person who allegedly fired shots inside an indoor swap meet in West Valley City on Saturday and robbed a jewelry booth.
Police said a person wearing a mask and armed with a gun entered the swap meet at 1550 W. 3500 South just before 6 p.m.. No serious injuries were reported but one person was grazed by a bullet. That man was not taken to a hospital, police say, and was described as "mentally shaken but otherwise OK." The gunman used a hammer to smash open jewelry cases, stole jewelry and then he fled on foot, West Valley police said Tuesday in a press release.Police were unable to locate the suspect, but they believe he is male and at least 5-feet-8. The person was wearing black clothing, a black beanie, tan boots and sunglasses and had an American flag bandana covering his face.
