Poll: Texans say state lawmakers not doing enough to prevent gun violence

It seems even some Texas Republicans are open to gun reform laws following the massacre in Uvalde back in May

According to the latest Dallas Morning News-University of Texas at Tyler poll most Texans say state lawmakers are not doing enough to prevent gun violence and they want new legislation to help combat the problem. The polls shows attitudes about guns have changed since a teenager gunned down 19 kids and 2 teachers at a Uvalde Elementary schoolin May.

52% of voters support raising the age limit from 18 to 21 to buy an assault rifle, such a law would have prevented the Uvalde gunman from buying his weapon. 66% of Texans surveyed also want Governor Abbott to call a special legislative session to discuss gun reform legislation.
