Organizers billed the concert as the first to take place in Golden Gate Park after dark
Community leaders and legislators reacted with both hope and discouragement after the company behind Outside Lands revealed the lineup and hours of a new concert at Golden Gate Park set to take place the weekend after the festival.
Richard Correia, vice president of the neighborhood group Planning Association for the Richmond, said he was “unsurprised” by the announcement but disappointed that the hours were so late since the organization specifically asked concert producers for an earlier end time. The new concerts, initially proposed by Mayor London Breed and Another Planet, have been met with pushback from some residents who live near the park, concerned about the noise level and the headaches the uptick in traffic would create.
