Ketanji Brown Jackson made history Thursday, becoming the first Black woman to join the U.S. Supreme Court. Jackson was sworn in during a ceremony at the court, just minutes after Justice Stephen G. Breyer made his retirement official.
President Donald Trump is stepping up his attacks on former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, calling her a “whack job” and accusing her of having made up stories “one after another” during her damaging public testimony this week to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.
Trump took issue in particular with Hutchinson’s recounting of an episode relayed to her in which he allegedly lunged for the steering wheel of the SUV he was in after being told the Secret Service would not drive him from a rally near the White House to the Capitol on Jan. 6. He also disputed that he wanted supporters of his who were armed to be allowed to attend the rally.
