Not an accredited teaching institution, PragerU just saw its right-wing curriculum approved for use in Florida. Two other states are considering the same, which one historian sees as a way “to replace American history with propaganda and indoctrination.”
Streit asserted that PragerU is merely “countering one-sided indoctrination” in public schools by providing their own form of indoctrination. She claimed in a
last week, however, that “PragerU content is not indoctrination.” Needless to say, the chief executive still appears to be making up her mind.PragerU’s fight both for and against indoctrination was not always geared toward grade school classrooms. The organization, founded in 2009, was initially envisioned as a physical place of learning, but that idea was abandoned in the early 2010s during the advent of viral online political content, explained, a senior researcher at Media Matters.
