Staff Reports Houston Academy’s Braya Hodges struck out nine and allowed only one hit over four innings in the pitching circle and added a three-run double and two RBI ground outs to pace Houston Academy in a Class 4A, Area 3 win at Slocomb.
For Headland, Ava Allsup and Kynlee Watkins were both 4-for-5 with Allsup earning a homer and three runs batted in and Watkins with one RBI. Stormi Clemmons had two hits and two RBI and Shaylee Greathouse had two hits. Meryl Adams had a double and RBI and Kiley Jenkins and Annie Laye added a single and RBI each.
Ariton 14, Northside Methodist 2: Ariton scored eight runs in the second and four in the third to break the game open. Faircloth was the winning pitcher, striking out six over five innings and allowing five hits and two runs, both unearned. Ty Nodd had two hits with one RBI and Kinley Duke also had two hits. Laura Trawick had a single and drove in three runs and Sydney Curry drove in three runs. Karlee Lott, Kayleigh Jeffcoat and Delaney Acosta all had a hit and two RBI and Bailey Lackey had a single and RBI.
