Staff reports State ranked teams Rehobeth, Wicksburg and Enterprise all went 2-0 in day two of the Dothan Diamond Classic at James Oates Park.
Jazzy Andrews had a run-scoring double, Shelby Davis a run-scoring single and Mattox Richards delivered an RBI sacrifice fly for the Rebel fourth-inning scoring. For the game, Mattox Richards had three hits, Williams had two hits and three runs batted in and Davis had two hits and two RBI, while Massey drove in three runs.
For Cottonwood, Ty Nodd had a double and Laura Trawick a single, while Chloe Lee and Delaney Acosta both had an RBI ground out. For Headland, Ava Allsup and Kiley Jenkins both had two hits and two runs batted in, while Kynlee Watkins, Shaylee Greathouse and Meryl Adams all had a hit and RBI in the game.
Watkins had two hits, including a two-run single. Kiley Jenkins also had a two-run single, while Reagan Lunsford had a run-scoring double and Addy Davis an RBI single for Headland.Northside Methodist 15, Houston County 0: Northside Methodist scored 10 runs in the first inning and pitcher Kolbi Hall struck out seven of 10 batters she faced in a three-inning one-hit shutout.
Zion Chapel 5, Luverne 3: Sydney Boothe scattered seven hits and allowed only three runs over seven innings with three strikeouts to lead the Rebels in a Class 2A, Area 4 win. For Pike Liberal Arts, Yaley McLendon had two hits, while Mary Holland Stephens had an RBI triple and Julianne Meyer a run-scoring single.
