President Trump calls for Pete Rose to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame

The president tweeted support for the former slugger, who had been banned from baseball since 1989.

Trump tweeted that Rose's accolades outweigh the ongoing controversy regarding him gambling on games to win.

"Pete Rose played Major League Baseball for 24 seasons, from 1963-1986, and had more hits, 4,256, than any other player ," Trump wrote."He gambled, but only on his own team winning, and paid a decades long price.
