Real estate brokers hunting a buyer for a sprawling Texas Panhandle ranch that belonged to T. Boone Pickens have cut the price again.
The late Texas oilman’s 65,000-acre spread near Pampa northeast of Amarillo has been up for sale since 2017. It’s one of the most elaborate ranches offered for sale in the U.S. The 101-square-mile Mesa Vista Ranch includes broad mesas, lakes and rivers and a grand home and lodge on the Canadian River.
Originally listed for sale at $250 million, the price tag has just been cut to $170 million by real estate agents at Hall and Hall and Chas. S. Middleton and Son, who are marketing the ranch for the Pickens estate. The centerpiece ranch “lodge” has more than 25,000 square feet of space with a large dining room with a massive fireplace, a library with a spiral staircase, a conference room, a 30-seat theater, a wine cellar, an office and a commercial kitchen.There’s a lakeside chapel and a private “lake house” with 11,500 square feet of living area and 3,800 square feet of porches and patios.
