“Public Enemy and Public Enemy Radio will be moving forward without Flavor Flav. We thank him for his years of service and wish him well,” the band said in a statement on Sunday, shortly before appearing with Sanders at a California rally. Flavor Flav had earlier dissociated himself from the appearance by Public Enemy at the Sanders rally, saying that Chuck D did not speak for the band.
“Are you kidding me right now??? over Bernie Sanders???,” he added. “You wanna destroy something we’ve built over 35 years OVER POLITICS??? all because I don’t wanna endorse a candidate.”
