hit in the spring of 2020, Jan and Rebecca were inspired to expand their business and create face masks for their local community. But there was one problem -- what to do with all the leftover fabric? Following some recommendations from friends, Jan decided that she and her daughter should use the extra fabric to make quilts, which she has enjoyedJan, who grew up in University Heights, says she has vivid memories of going to visit her grandmother in the rural city of Hollandale, Mississippi, and watching her grandmother and a small group of local women gather, weaving together fabrics, all by hand.process, but the stories the women were telling were so enthralling she couldn’t stay away.
