Hi, I'm Christopher Maag, and I write about a variety of topics, and also have a column that focuses on the unique characters and overlooked beauty of New Jersey and the New York metropolitan region.of New Jersey in 2016. In mid-December, a 23-year-old New Jersey man was found guilty of killing three women and attempting to murder a fourth during a brutal spree in 2016.
What’s so remarkable about this case is that the young man was only stopped when the sister and friends of one of the victims catfished the killer and lured him to police.was able to identify the killer and testified against him in court — despite not having been believed by police when she first reported her attack. These women were dubbed the “true heroes” of the case, so Julia Martin and I spent two months working to tell their story.
