Rabbi Yehuda Weinstock killed in wrong-way crash on New York State Thruway

Deadly crash: Police say Rabbi Yehuda Weinstock was killed by a wrong-way driver overnight on the New York State Thruway.

Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash overnight on the New York State Thruway in Orange County. New York State Police said a Toyota Rav-4 drove north in the southbound lanes and hit a Nissan Altima head-on, causing the Toyota to catch fire.

The driver, 68-year-old George Gonzalez, was pronounced dead at the scene. As was the driver of the Nissan, identified as 67-year-old Rabbi Yehuda Weinstock. The cause of the crash is under investigation, as police try to determine why the first car was driving the wrong way.
