Rangers activate shortstop Corey Seager from injured list, will play Wednesday vs, Chicago
Seager, an All-Star starter, was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 22 after he injured his thumb sliding into second base vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers the night prior. He was eligible to come off the injured list on Tuesday.He missed 31 games with a left hamstring strain from April 12-May 17, then another nine due to the thumb sprain.Seager slashed .350/.413/.631 with 15 home runs and 58 RBIs in 66 games before his recent injury.
“He’s one of the best hitters in the game,” Bochy said. “It stretches out our lineup, [Travis] Jankowski is in the six hole today. It’s a big shot in the arm for us.”
