Red Line trains disrupted as Chicago police investigate suspicious object

CHICAGO -- The CTA has halted Red Line trains north of Belmont as Chicago police investigate a suspicious object found near the 'L' tracks in the Edgewater neighborhood.Police confirmed a suspicious object was found in the 5600 block of North Broadway on Thursday afternoon.

The CTA has suspended service on the nearby Red Line tracks between Belmont and Howard. Red Line trains were running only between 95th Street and Belmont.Shuttle buses were running between Howard and Belmont, and the CTA was warning Red Line riders to allow extra travel time.Further information was not immediately available.
