Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Oak Forest hosts its annual Easter pierogi sale March 23 and 24. The Church Ladies Test Kitchen is open for its 2024 spring/Easter pierogi sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 23 and noon to 3 p.m. March 24. All flavors cost $8 per half dozen. Flavors are potato, blueberry, kraut with Polish sausage, sweet cheese, pork, and spinach and feta. Cash, check or online payments are accepted. No preorders. Book launch and reception with NPR national correspondent Sarah McCammon at 4:30 p.m. March 22. McCammon grew up in a deeply evangelical Midwestern family and found her religious worldview unraveling during the first presidential campaign of Donald Trump. Learn about this new generation of disaffected evangelical Christians during the launch of McCammon’s first book, “The Exvangelicals,” a memoir about growing up in a strict evangelical household.

Prices are $25 for various 10-inch hanging baskets, $28 for a moss succulent shoe or purse, $30 for a succulent assortment and $35 for a 12-inch combination hanging basket or planter or combination succulent planter. Money raised will benefit the church’s mission trip to Back Bay, Mo., this summer. The flowers will come from Roden’s Elegant Gardens in Wisconsin.
