As the 60th anniversary of the disappearance of Flying Tiger Flight 739 approaches, the Wreaths Across America organization plans to commemorate the event and continue sharing these fallen soldiers' stories.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Flying Tiger Line flight 739 was filled with nearly 100 United States Army soldiers that never landed… at least not that we know of.
The top secret mission was on its Vietnam leg when they stopped in Guam to refuel. After refueling, somewhere between Guam and the Philippines, the flight lost signal and was nowhere to be found on the radar. Once the founder of the organization was informed that nothing had been done for the families of the missing soldiers from flight 739, he ensured that something would be done to honor and remember them, hoping to also give the families some closure.
