A group of Texas Republicans asked Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, to resign Monday, citing her previous support of legislation that would have removed Secret Service protection for former President Donald Trump. Rep. Crockett sponsored the Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable, or DISGRACED, Former Protectees Act, in April. TheThe legislation would have applied to Trump, who was convicted of falsifying business records to conceal a crime in May. Secret Service killed the man who tried to assassinate Trump at a Pennsylvania rally Saturday while other agents covered and escorted the former president off stage.
