Rep. Scott Perry was singled out on Friday at a rally to honor the insurrection of Jan. 6, 2021, with participants blaming him and other MAGA extremists for attempting to undermine democratic principles.

Capitol to mark Jan. 6th attacks at the U.S. CapitolGeorgina Anderson on Friday braved a biting wind whipping across the steps of the state Capitol to rally alongside 150 or so other participants to remember the near-death of democracy on Jan. 6, 2021 and condemn extremist measures to destroy democratic principles.
The rally happened simultaneously with others across the country marking the two-year anniversary since a violent mob — encouraged by former president Donald Trump — stormed the U.S. Capitol building and threatened the peaceful transition of power after Joe Biden’s election victory. “They are the destroyers and the deceivers of democracy,” said retired U.S. Army Colonel Rick Coplen. “They are Scott Perry, Doug Mastriano, Donald Trump and thousands and thousands of people they spurred into insurrection on January 6. That day we saw what we thought was impossible in our America but could become our future.”
Participants lined across the Capitol steps, many holding posters with messages condemning MAGA politics and in particular Perry.
