RESEDA — One person was killed and another critically injured Tuesday in a confrontation that began as a report of a knife-wielding suspect at or near a Denny’s restaurant in Reseda that led to a shooting involving Los Angeles police.

Officers were sent to the 7600 block of Reseda Boulevard about 11:10 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of a man armed with a knife at the location, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.The LAPD confirmed that a shooting involving police occurred, but there were no reports of any officers being injured.The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.
