The Herd is an often blunt introduction to these topics, showing how they play out in real time for one community under nigh-miraculous circumstances. All of the human drama plays out with the bison’s difficult history in North America as a backdrop — and what a backdrop.
It would have made for a stronger conclusion had the show’s narrative arc ended in that vein, leaving the audience with a hopeful, introspective message. What transpired instead was abrupt and somewhat jarring.Article content
