Morrow’s contributions weren’t limited to the ground game. He returned two kickoffs for 47 yards and a punt for 10 yards. Morrow entered training camp as part of a competition to replace Powell, who signed with the Ottawa Redblacks as a free agent. The Riders eventually settled on Morrow and, who rushed for 47 yards on six carries in a 25-16 pre-season loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Morrow was particularly active in the first half when he had 11 carries for 86 yards and the aforementioned touchdown. There was a second-quarter stretch in which Hickson subbed in for Morrow and rookie Samuel Emilus filled in on the field-goal return team.
