The performance comes on the heels of Rihanna’s appearance at the halftime of Super Bowl LVII earlier this month. She will sing the Oscar-nominated song “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.'

“Lift Me Up,” with music written by Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Goransson and lyrics by Tems and Ryan Coogler, is nominated for best original song. It is Rihanna’s first Oscar nomination.announced Rihanna’s performance on ThursdayThe performance comes on the heels of Rihanna’s appearance at the halftime of Super Bowl LVII earlier this month. Her last album, “Anti,” was released in 2016 and the halftime performance was widely billed as the singer’s return.

The show also revealed the singer is several months pregnant with her second child. While she did not reference that during the performance, her representatives confirmed that to Variety shortly afterward. Many actors and celebrities have presented or accepted awards at the Oscars while pregnant. The only musical performance by a pregnant artist in recent memory occurred in 2003 when Catherine Zeta-Jones performed “I Move On” from “Chicago” with Queen Latifah,Jones won an Oscar for best supporting actress that year, and she gave birth to her daughter, Carys, a few weeks later.
