The $1.5 billion incentives package is being sold as a net win for Georgia, but not everyone is happy about the coming plant

The opposition to the site was such that the state actually took over the approvals process and consolidated local zoning and compliance in order to ward off threats of project delays. Wilson, though, calls the project a win for the state and those counties, which will get around $330 million in tax revenue“It’s a huge net win,” said Wilson. “The state has always placed a priority on jobs — if you’re creating jobs in the state, we incentivize those jobs.
