At a time when the two sides should have been moving closer to an agreement — one that actually should have been reached several weeks earlier — the league cast a stink bomb in the direction of the CFLPA. Instead of sitting down and finishing the deal, the CFL opted to circumvent the union by turning to social media and outlining specifics from a proposal that had been freshly and roundly rejected.Cue the strike, which took effect Sunday and shut down seven of the nine teams.
