The Court of Criminal Appeals in Texas last week issued a slew of decisions packed into one opinion addressing Fratta’s attempts to avoid being executed. The court ultimately determined that he failed to meet the requirements needed to show that his conviction and punishment was unconstitutional. Guidry, who was 18 at the time of the murder, was identified as the trigger man who laid in a wait in a child’s playhouse and ambushed Fratta’s wife as she came home. He shot her in the head as she entered a garage.Prystash, then 38 and Fratta’s former workout partner, was to receive Fratta’s Jeep as payment for hiring Guidry and providing him a .38-caliber weapon to use.
