The lack of composure on Monday was different, coming when the adversity that they had fought their way through most of the season hit. The Rockets’ ball movement had improved greatly since the previous meeting with the Clippers. But once again, when the Clippers went to their small, switching lineups, the Rockets went one-on-one, typically driving into crowds.

After getting 11 assists in consecutive games on the Rockets’ road trip, point guard Kevin Porter Jr. had three for a second consecutive game. He drew a technical foul when he ran toward official Josh Tiven after he tied up Marcus Morris Sr. but did not get a call for a jump ball before the Clippers got a timeout. He was called for shoving Ivica Zubac while chasing a rebound after a Clippers made basket.
