• The Rockies made a mistake by hitting Rodgers third early in the season after his impressive spring training. That only increased the pressure. • Rodgers has a simple, compact, and efficient swing. Nolan Arenado once told me that he thought Rodgers’ swing was one of the best he’d ever seen from a young player. So I believe that Rodgers will bounce back, but it might take a trip down to Triple-A for a tune-up to get him right.
The Rockies are going all-in on their starting rotation core with deals for Kyle Freeland, German Marquez and Antonio Senzatela over the past few years.
