While appearing on Life, Liberty & Levin, Rubio said the Left’s priority is to gain and use power to divide the nation.“People think that Marxism is just an economic model. Marxism is a power structure. It is the belief that we need to divide people against each other,” Rubio said. “It used to be traditionally based on class, but now, it's based on — we see the fracture lines they created, whether partisanship, your gender identity, your race, your ethnicity.
“That’s what they’re doing here is basically dividing Americans and telling us that our future depends on the government passing some law, electing certain people that will pass certain bills, that will take control at the expense of your liberty, your freedom, your individual rights,” Rubio continued. “This is Marxism.”
The Florida Republican noted that Marxist power grabs flourish in times of crisis. He suggested Democrats’ pursuit of control can be seen in mandates during the coronavirus pandemic, weaponizing the Department of Justice, or “carrying out a blackout of any media coverage on [Hunter Biden’s] laptop.” “For left-wing elites in this country, their No. 1 objective is power, preserving that power, protecting that power — their professional power, their personal power, and they’ll do anything,” Rubio said. “We are dealing with an effort by a small class of left-wing elites to preserve their power, and they are willing to use all instruments of government, society, and culture to keep it and to wage war against anyone that stands in their way. There’s nothing that they’re not willing to do.
