The update from Britain's Ministry of Defense is the latest assessment that Russia's missile supplies are depleted.
Russian forces are resorting to removing nuclear warheads from old cruise missiles to fire at targets in Ukraine, according to the latest Western assessment that points to Moscow's dwindling weapons stocks.
Britain's Ministry of Defense said that open-source imagery shows the debris of a 1980s AS-15 Kent air-launched cruise missile, which had apparently been shot down and whose warheads had"probably been substituted for ballast." A Russian anti-aircraft missile launcher S300-V is on display at a show of the International Military Technical Forum 'Army 2022' on August 17, 2022 in Patriot Park, outside of Moscow. The British Ministry of Defense said on 26 November, 2022 that Russia was facing depleted missile supplies.
"Whatever Russia's intent, this improvisation highlights the level of depletion in Russia's stock of long-range missiles," the defense officials said on Saturday in an assessment that typically highlights Kyiv's gains and Moscow's losses. There have been numerous reports that Russia is facing dwindling missile stocks, although there is uncertainty surrounding the state of Moscow's arsenal.
