“We hope it doesn’t go into next year,” the actors union chief negotiator told THR during a local rally at the Toronto Film Festival.

“It’s all in their control. They could come back tomorrow and make a deal,” Crabtree-Ireland added after taking part in a rally held by ACTRA, Canada’s actors union, outside the headquarters of Amazon and Apple in downtown Toronto. “If one of the companies approach us and say they want to make a separate deal, we’ll talk to them. My belief is that’s unlikely to happen. You never can tell. In our view, the best outcome is getting a quick and single deal for the whole industry. But we’ll do whatever it takes to bring this strike to an end with a fair deal,” he told THR.
