The Parks and Recreation Department will be handing them out Saturday at Nelson M. Wolff Municipal Stadium.

On Saturday, in a crowded Nelson M. Wolff Municipal Stadium parking lot, 850 fruit trees will be distributed to San Antonio homes.The latest giveaway, as part of a series from San Antonio Parks and Recreation, includes hundreds of trees of various fruit varieties. The giveaway will start at 8 a.m. Saturday and continue while supplies last. The giveaway, a Sweet & Green adoption event, is a drive-thru event from Jammin' Jams Tree Adoption.

Only one tree per household will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Parks and Rec hasn't released a full list of the varieties of fruit trees up for adoption, but previous events have included lemon, grapefruit, avocado, lime and mango, among many others.
