SAN ANTONIO - As summer break approaches, San Antonio school districts are gearing up to ensure that no student goes hungry during the vacation period.Multiple

The Seamless Summer food programs serve as a lifeline for many families, providing essential nutrition and support to students during the summer break.

"Even with our normal school breakfast and lunch," Reyna said, "we've seen a 2% increase just from what is currently captured as to last year, and by a 2% increase. I mean, that might seem minuet, but that equals to about 500,000 meals"Sharon Glosson, Director of School Nutrition for NEISD, emphasized the program's role in maintaining students' routines during the break.

Glosson further emphasized the educational value of the program, particularly for new students entering kindergarten, as it offers them an opportunity to familiarize themselves with cafeteria routines before the start of the school year.
