According to a sentencing memorandum from Weisbecker's attorney, her client was influenced by conspiracy theories regarding election fraud forwarded by former President Donald Trump and others. During his remotely held sentencing hearing, he addressed U.S. District Judge Thomas Hogan in the District of Columbia and said,"I did not enter that building with negative intentions. I did not enter that building to cause problems for anybody."
