Two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting a security guard in San Francisco’s Japantown on Wednesday evening, police said.
Police were called to the Japan Center Mall, at Webster and Geary, shortly after 5 p.m. on Jan. 4. They found a security guard with a gunshot wound; he died at the scene.
The man’s name has not been officially released, but family members identified him to the media as Gavin Boston, 40. His sister told CBS News Bay Area that he was escorting the teens from the mall when he was shot. The boys, ages 15 and 14, were booked into the Juvenile Justice Center, the older on suspicion of murder, the younger on suspicion of accessory to murder.
