A search of the suspect’s home turned up thee firearms, six machine gun conversion devices, a silencer, ammunition, firearm manufacturing materials and two 3D printers. SAN JOSE – A 25-year-old San Jose man was arrested last week on suspicion of manufacturing illegal firearms, police said Tuesday.

Detectives identified and arrested the suspect on March 8 following a “thorough and comprehensive investigation into the manufacturing of privately made firearms” in the city, San Jose police Officer Tanya Hernandez said in a news release. Hernandez said a search of the man’s home turned up three firearms, six machine gun conversion devices, a silencer, ammunition, firearm manufacturing materials and two 3D printers.The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County jail on multiple firearm-related charges.
