The solo-vehicle collision was reported Wednesday afternoon at Page Mill Road in Palo Alto.
PALO ALTO – A 66-year-old San Jose man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 280 in Palo Alto, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at 2:42 p.m. on southbound I-280 at Page Mill Road, the CHP said in a statement. Officers arrived to find a 2014 Ford pickup truck had crashed into a tree on the right shoulder. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once it has been confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
An investigation revealed the Ford was traveling southbound on the highway when it veered to the right, left the roadway and crashed into the tree, according to the CHP.
