The Eagles were just 5-4 this season before winning their final three games, two of them on the road. They scored 31 points or more in all three of those games and average 28.8 for the season.The Eagles are led offensively by running back Samson Evans, who earned All-MAC second-team honors after rushing for 1,084 yards and 13 touchdowns and quarterback Taylor Powell, who had 1,813 passing yards and 14 TDs, both career bests.
EMU is Powell’s third school, having spent three seasons at Missouri before playing the 2021 campaign at Troy. Wide receiver Tanner Knue, a 5-11, 177-pound grad student, leads the Eagles with 42 receptions for 592 yards and has scored nine touchdowns. Knue has 101 career catches.
