the offer made by the federal government to deliver an extra $196.1 billion of funding over the next ten years. Of that sum, Saskatchewan is looking at potentially seeing a fresh $1.1 billion through a bilateral agreement, and an additional $61 million in emergency Canada Health Transfer funds, earmarked to address immediate pressures on hospitals and surgical backlogs, but only if the province signs a deal.

The injection represents an approximately 2 per cent increase to the CHT across the country, parsed down to a 2 per cent increase for Saskatchewan individually as well.Article content
