Up to May 3, Saskatoon’s wastewater viral load increased by 130.6 per cent, and is now back in the medium range.

Prince Albert saw a decrease of 38.2 per cent in the reporting period to May 1. The city’s viral load remains in the low range and is the 76th highest recorded. North Battleford’s concentration increased by 129.3 per cent up to May 1 and has moved into the medium range. Since Saskatchewan no longer reports daily COVID-19 data and relies on rapid antigen tests for testing in the general population, wastewater data is one of the best indicators available for how the virus is spreading. As of May, the Community Respiratory Illness Surveillance Program — a report compiled by the ministry that offers the only data on COVID-19 from the province — will be released

. The next CRISP report is scheduled to be delivered May 25, with biweekly reporting resuming in the fall.
