The email tells customers there is an issue processing their last bill and that they must log in to MySaskPower to submit payment.
The email, which is sent from an address not associated with SaskPower, says customers must log in to MySaskPower and submit payment immediately, SaskPower said in a release.
It then direct them to a fraudulent login page. Once they have entered their login credentials, customers are prompted to enter their credit card information. SaskPower says that anyone who has followed the link and submitted credit card information should immediately contact their credit card issuer and call SaskPower customer service at 888-757-6937 to have their MySaskPower credentials reset.
The release recommends checking the address of emails claiming to be SaskPower. When in doubt, SaskPower says customers should call customer service to confirm an email is legitimate.The news seems to be flying at us faster all the time.
