A beach hazard warning is in effect from 9 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning, National Weather Service officials said. Several beaches in Lake, northern and central Cook counties in Illinois are included.
Weather officials extended a beach warning in effect over the weekend as conditions at Lake Michigan remain dangerous for swimmers with waves between 4 to 7 feet expected and currents being life-threatening.
The beach hazard is in effect from 9 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning, National Weather Service officials said. Several beaches in Lake, northern and central Cook counties in Illinois are included.Swimmers are encourage to stay out of the water, especially inexperienced swimmers because conditions are life-threatening.Conditions at Chicago’s airports are overcast at 73 degrees. A high in the mid-70s is expected Saturday.
