\nAfter spending way too much depressing time learning who wouldn't be returning on the cast side for Lorne Michaels & NBC's Saturday Night Live Season 48 , we actually have some good news to pass along to SNL fans. The late-night sketch comedy\/music series will return on October 1st and will also run new shows on October 8th & 15th. In addition, the season premiere will also stream live on Peacock on October 1st at 11:30 pm ET\/8:30 pm PT .
'They spend a lot of money on that show every week. It's an expensive show, but it's a one-of-a-kind thing. It's the only one. You know, 'Live from New York.''\n\nDuring a tour behind-the-scenes of SNL's show night with CBS Mornings host Gayle King for his Kennedy Center honor before the end of 2021, Michaels revealed that he had been thinking of retiring and thought it was a 'really good time to leave.
