Actress Scarlett Johansson has provided an update on the Marvel Cinematic Universe project that she is producing.
“It is still happening,” Johansson says. “It is still happening, [but] not currently because nothing is happening right now. We’re all sort of in this holding pattern as we wait out the writers’ strike and potentially our own guild strike, and so on and so forth.”
Johansson refers to the ongoing WGA strike and the looming possibility of a Screen Actors Guild strike as reasons why the project is not currently moving forward. “Right before the strike, we were in the middle of developing it, and now everything is at a simmer,” she adds.Jonathan Sim is a film critic and filmmaker born and raised in New York City.
