Seahawks defense slated to face Deshaun Watson in preseason finale vs. Browns

The Cleveland Browns intend to have Deshaun Watson play against the Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks defense certainly impressed against the Los Angeles Chargers, but with the caveat that, apart from the fact that it’s preseason, the Chargers did not have Justin Herbert or the first-team offense in the game. It looks as if Seattle’s preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns will see starting quarterback Deshaun Watson get some run, having not played since suffering a season-ending injury against the Baltimore Ravens last November.

We don’t know whether the Seahawks will play any starters in Week 3, but the Chargers game saw almost the entire starting defense in for two series, with Boye Mafe playing the entire first half. This week’s road game against the Tennessee Titans has the added wrinkle of joint practices, which may influence whether either Seattle or Tennessee has starters playing this Saturday.
