Panelists at Friday's roundtable said that they need more access to tools that would help those struggling with addiction.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 108,000 Americans died of drug overdoses in 2021 — a new record.

Murray said that deaths linked to the drug fentanyl doubled in our state in 2021. At Friday’s roundtable, she met with workers on the front lines of the fight against fentanyl in Seattle, who say they need better access to tools that would help those struggling with addiction. “Having access to nasal Narcan that’s affordable — that would be incredible,” said Elizabeth Dahl, executive director of the Aurora Commons.
