The Ohio Craft Brewers Association’s recent election involves several folks at Northeast Ohio breweries.

Jason Moore of Springboro-based Crooked Handle Brewing Co. will serve as the association’s vice-president, following the term-limited tenure of Ali Hovan of HiHO Brewing Co. in Cuyahoga Falls.

Board members Steve Forman of Great Lakes Brewing Co. in Cleveland and Jamey Ratcliff of Sixth Sense Brewing Co. in Jackson were re-elected to second terms. Aspasia Lyras-Bernacki, co-owner of Penguin City Brewing Co. in Youngstown and David Sutula, partner and brewer at Royal Docks Brewing Co., in Canton, were elected to first terms and will assume at-large seats.• Like Hovan, Garrett Hickey of Cincinnati’s Streetside Brewery was term-limited. He will be replaced as secretary by board member Melissa Dallas of Upside Brewing in Sylvania.New board members will start two-year terms Thursday, Aug.

The association says its priority is reform of the Ohio Alcoholic Beverages Franchise Act, a 50-year-old law the OCBA says creates an imbalance of power by restricting small and independent breweries through lifetime contracts with beer wholesalers. What’s a ‘Brunchmunder?’ Great Lakes Brewing Co. sets brewmaster’s brunchIf you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
