Bryce Young was benched this week by the Panthers, but several teams already have expressed interest in trading for the No.1 overall pick in the 2023 draft,
He added that league sources believe “it is only a matter of time” before Carolina “completes a deal involving the second-year quarterback,” albeit most likely “at some point in the offseason.”Young has posted a 2-16 record as a starter since the Panthers traded up with the Bears to select him first overall out of Alabama last year.
Young has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns in his pro career, while completing just 59 percent of his passes. Several highly drafted quarterbacks have been traded away in recent seasons for marginal returns, including Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Trey Lance and Zach Wilson.
