Storms are forecast to move through the state this weekend, and according to 9NEWS meteorologist Chris Bianchi, a severe threat is present for both days. Chances for severe weather are expected to be higher on Saturday, with a risk of hail, strong winds and isolated tornadoes,
Heavy rain is not expected for either day, Bianchi said, but the foothills could get more rain on Sunday. Severe storms are likely across the northeast Saturday, with the greatest threat being"along and northeast of a line from Greeley to Limon," according to the National Weather Service forecast office for Denver and Boulder.

On Friday, Denver had its hottest day of the year so far, with a temperature high of 95 degrees at DIA. The NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning for DIA, Watkins and Bennett until 8:30 p.m.
