Chuck's morning forecast for Monday, April 1, 2024.

INDIANAPOLIS — We're seeing a lull from the rain and storms through the early afternoon as a warm front sits stationary over central Indiana. Temperatures will be dependent on where this frontal boundary stays today creating a sharp gradient with highs north in the 50s to the 70s south. Look forThe risk of strong storms ramps back up after 4 p.m. and will continue into the evening. Large hail and damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat, but rotating storms can't be ruled out.

When the boundary arrives, another round of showers and storms will be possible between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.We'll see a sharp drop in temperatures behind the cold front with lows Wednesday morning falling all the way into the mid 30s. Moisture will wrap around the backside of this system and could prompt a wintry mix across the northern tier of the state with scattered rain showers elsewhere. Highs will be limited to the upper 30s, near 40 Wednesday afternoon.
